I'm Sascha, and I'm a 20-year-old Canadian! I heard about SCPX online. When I found out about a two-month internship in Kansas City co-sponsored by SCPX last summer, God said I had to come.
The Student Church Planting experience is one of the best things I've done in my life. I could count on one hand how many times I've done something this good, and this is one of them!
I came to the internship in Kansas City and the SCPX training thinking I'd learn a whole whack of awesome head knowledge, but NOPE! God had other plans! Instead of learning head knowledge, I learned and experienced heart knowledge.
During SCPX, I learned many things I never before contemplated. Before SCPX, I thought I knew the basics of God, and simple church. But quite quickly I realized I had so much to learn!
There were some real 'gemstone' people there, young people especially, on fire for God, and truly living their lives for and with God. I continue to be totally blown away by these people's passion and immense love for God in their lives. More than just what they said, I learned so much more by experiencing how they lived as truly Christ-like!
The SCPX leaders helped break down Christ-like living to a very simple, basic thing that anyone can understand, value, love and SHARE! I not only learned these principles, but used them right away – great preparation for planting a simple church.
SCPX taught me how to be attentive to God, and His Holy Spirit in all I do, especially when we hung out with, and prayed for people. Going with God, instead of for Him is a big deal, and makes SUCH a difference! We learned to hear and follow God's direction in how He wants us to bless people, and direct us He did – time and time again.
One of the most amazing things about SCPX is it reaches your heart. The places you don't necessarily go; the questions, and aggravations you might have down inside. If you let it, the time you spend in SCPX will touch and challenge those areas – in an extremely good way!
